Welcome to the AAB Alumni Webpage
It has been another busy year for AAB and it is good to reflect back on events as time goes on. Our people have risen to the challenges of this year and have delivered results which have given us plenty of reasons to celebrate. Along with achieving and retaining some prestigious industry awards and accreditations, we have expanded our service offering (Restructuring & Recovery, Litigation Support and Training to name a few) enhanced our recruitment initiatives and strengthened our team with some key appointments, in addition to all of the usual sports, social and fundraising fun with have as a firm.
We are very excited about the launch of the Anderson Anderson & Brown Charitable Initiative (AABi). AABi has been set up as the platform which facilitates everyone at AAB to be able to invest in the communities in which they operate. The initiative seeks partnership with charities, invites applications from worthy causes for donations and grants from the initiative, and also enables employees to use their time and skills to support local charities through projects and volunteering events.
AABi is managed by a Board of Trustees, all of whom are senior members of the firm's leadership team, and is chaired by Sheena Anderson, one of the founding Partners of AAB (now retired). Activities undertaken, all of which are supported by relevant teams and committees across the firm, come under five strategic themes, namely; Education, Health & Wellbeing, Community & Volunteering, Fundraising and Environment. You can read more about AABi here.
On 7 June 2016 we moved into our new headquarters, Kingshill View, and are hugely excited to officially now be located at the Prime Four Business Park and believe that Kingshill View will provide a fantastic platform for the next stage in our firm’s development. You can view how Kingshill View progressed from concept to completion in our Photo Gallery. We have been busy hosting lots of events, seminars, roundtable discussions and training since we moved and look forward to continuing this into 2017 and beyond.
In February 2016 we were awarded a two-star accreditation from Best Companies, the employee engagement specialists, and simultaneously have secured themselves a place at number 52 in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For List. AAB Wealth retained a prestigious industry award - the ‘2016 Citywire, New Model Adviser of the Year Award - Scotland & Northern Ireland Region’, for the second consecutive year. The Corporate Finance Team were named the Top Dealmakers in Scotland for the 11th consecutive year and the Integrated Employment Solutions team were successful at the UK-wide Payroll World Awards for the fifth year in a row having received the Auto-enrolment Engagement of the Year award 2016.
We also said a fond farewell to Partners Sheena Anderson and Ishbel Sutherland and celebrated in true AAB style! Whilst we will miss them both in the day-to-day office life, nethier retirement marked the end of eithers relationship with the firm as we look forward to welcoming them back to various events as AAB alumni.
We have had a lot to 'shout about' and our success is down to one thing, our people. And because we value our people, we want to keep in contact with you because everybody who has ever worked with AAB has played a part building towards these successes. We invite you to join the AAB Alumni programme so that we can maintain contact with you as well as keeping you up-to-date with all things AAB.
We look forward to keeping in touch with you and hearing about your current role, the old and new challenges you have faced or experienced and a catch up on how your career has developed. In return, we hope to provide you with regular updates on the firm's news, publications and events (and to hopefully enjoy some hospitality at one or two upcoming events – details to follow).
