Meet Our HR Team

Karen Stewart

Karen joined the firm in 1991 as a newly qualified Chartered Accountant. She developed her role in audit and corporate services and was promoted to Senior Manager in 1995. While managing a client portfolio, Karen also had responsibility for recruiting, training and coaching staff, a role that she found very rewarding. In 2007, Karen took up a whole new challenge with the firm when she was appointed HR Director. Karen was promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer in April 2015 and, with the advantage of having trained as a Chartered Accountant and working her way up to Senior Manager in a client service role, Karen continually strives to enhance the training and career development opportunities available throughout the firm.

Marie Milne

Marie joined the firm in 2001 as a Secretary and was promoted to Secretarial Supervisor in 2004, a role which also encompassed working for the HR Department.

In 2007 Marie transferred full time to the HR Department as HR Advisor. Marie achieved her CPP in April 2007 and is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Stacey Barnett

Stacey joined the HR team in 2010, having previously qualified as a solicitor. Stacey completed her CIPD qualification in 2013 and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. As HR Advisor, Stacey's role in the HR department is to provide day to day HR support and to contribute to the long-term development of the HR function. Stacey oversees the recruitment and training process as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.

Yvonne Walker

Yvonne joined the HR department in 2013, to compliment the existing team. Yvonne brought with her a wealth of PA/administrative experience after a long career in banking. Yvonne’s main duties are the day to day administrative functions of the HR team.

Gosia Krysiuk

Gosia joined the HR team in 2014. Gosia completed her CIPD qualification in 2012 and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. As HR Advisor, Gosia brings a wealth of generalist experience to the role including: recruitment, immigration and employee relations. Gosia is a previous winner of the cHeRries Blossoming Award.

Jessica Middleton

Jessica joined the HR team in 2015 having gained a number of years of generalist HR experience across a range of sectors including accountancy, retail and travel and tourism. Jessica completed her CIPD qualification in 2009, after previously gaining a law degree, and is an Associate Member of the CIPD. Jessica’s role within the HR team is to provide day to day HR support and to contribute to the long-term development of the HR function.

Laura Campbell

Laura joined the firm in 2002 as a placement student from Robert Gordon University, before returning in 2004 to commence her professional training with ICAS, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. Laura spent time in audit, accounting services and indirect tax before specialising in corporate tax where she managed a large client portfolio, including corporate groups operating internationally. Laura left the firm in 2010 and spent a year experiencing life in industry, before returning to the AAB corporate tax team in 2011 and was promoted to manager in 2012.

After a short break to start a family Laura returned in April 2015 to a new role within the HR team, Training and Development Manager, with overall responsibility for students undertaking professional qualifications with the firm. Laura’s experience of professional exams as well as her time spent in a technical and client facing role means she is well placed to support the career and personal development of those at AAB.
