Placement Positions
An integral part of a number of finance based University degrees is a year’s placement within a working environment.
We are looking for a long term relationship with our placement students. We recruit a number of undergraduates from Robert Gordon University each year, offering them the opportunity to gain experience within the audit and accounts, corporate finance and tax departments. Placement students who have performed well during the year are invited to return to us to study for professional exams.
The placement recruitment process for 2012 is now closed. The recruitment process for 2013 will commence in September 2012.
Professor Elizabeth Gammie, course leader for the BA/BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree at The Robert Gordon University, says “The University have been involved in placing under-graduate placement students with AAB since 1991. The university is very pleased with the experience that the students receive during their placements and also with the extremely high percentage of students who secure full-time positions and training contracts with the firm on graduation”.
Carol-Anne Sinclair, CA and former placement student, says “I attended a presentation evening held by the firm and was impressed with the presentations made by partners and senior staff. All the staff I met were friendly and welcoming which helped to put me at ease. I was subsequently interviewed and offered a placement position which I was delighted to accept”.
James Pirrie, Partner and former placement student says : "After my first taste of life at AAB during my RGU placement year I knew that it would be a great firm to work for and do my ICAS training with. I have never regretted the decision and the breadth of experience gained during my training contract was of great benefit to me in obtaining my CA qualification with ICAS. The firm has also provided me with the platform to work overseas and for continual career progression which culminated in my promotion to partner in 2007."
We regret that we are unable to consider summer placements for students due to our participation in the above scheme.
