General Ledger Maintenance

The general ledger forms a pivotal part of the financial records.  The general ledger captures where income and expenditure is incurred within the business and ultimately helps provide information to assist in management decisions, leading to better control of the business.

The general ledger is the foundation for the Trial Balance, P&L Account and the Balance Sheet of the business so it's importance should never be underestimated. It requires to be reconciled and reviewed regularly in order to identify any issues. This is a crucial excercise to conduct before the accounts are prepared and used for management information and decision-making purposes.

AAB can be employed to conduct a thorough health check on your general ledger, making sure it reconciles accurately to it's supporting ledgers and records, whilst providing assistance to spot, evaluate and rectify any errors and/or mispostings highlighted.
